An Open Letter....

Dear ?-
I know the chances of you reading this letter are very slim, but I need to put some things out in the open.
What kind of person are you to dump a mama kitty and two baby kitties in my yard? Sweet, kind, beautiful kitties left outside for a stranger to find and abuse or hit with a car?

Lucky for you, you choose our yard. We found the kitties and put them in our garage (Chase is allergic so they can't come inside). We bought them food, a litter box, treats and a flea collar for mama. We play with them and feed them and have taken care of them for almost a week. Was finding a good home too hard for you? Maybe you should have thought about that before you didn't get your mama cat fixed. I have seen organizations that will fix a cat for less than $30.

We have searched online and called more rescue organizations than I can count trying to find a place that will take the kitties and not kill them. No one has room. All the no kill shelters are full and can't make room for three kitties. The shelter that will take them but won't promise not to kill them, has 300 kittens!! 300!! Again, why aren't people getting their cats fixed!?! We are at a loss... We have all but given up trying to find a good home for them. I don't know what to do. I wonder if this is how you felt when you abandoned your kitties. I hope so. I hope you exhausted all of your resources to find them a good home and decided that our house looked like a nice kitty home.

I know I don't have a ton of readers, but if anyone would like to adopt the the kittens or mama kitty, please email me. If you can pull some strings to get them in a no kill shelter, email me.

Holden... Happy Half Birthday

Happy Half Birthday my love! I can't believe you are six months old! I feel like we just brought you home from the hospital I love you so much!! You are an angel baby.... You sleep well, you eat well, you are always happy - I really couldn't ask for a better baby. Sometimes I want to squeeze you and never let go...
Your brother is amazing... He's the BEST big brother ever. You laugh at him all the time. He loves you as much as Daddy and I do. He's getting big too. I wish you both could stay small forever. Chase, I love you sooooo much!

My Brothers

We took a quick trip to VA to see my family in April. My brothers were able to drive up from GA the same weekend so we could spend time together. I hadn't seen my youngest brother in over year and was very excited to see him. Chase had only met him maybe twice before seeing him in April and was instantly attached to him. Chase also LOVES my older younger brother and enjoys spending time with him too. He says he's his favorite uncle. :) Sometimes Holden looks identical to Jeremiah (oldest younger) ... So much so that it freaks me out a little. David is Holden's middle name and also Jeremiah's.

I miss my brothers. They are both wonderful. Nick in his own way... Jeremiah in a classic older brother way. I wish we could see them more, but it's hard since they live in GA. One weekend every 6 months isn't enough time.

Living Room... a contest

Nicole, is hosting a giveaway on her blog for 150,000 American Express Membership Reward Points and a custom design plan by her!
Let me tell you how much I love her blog... It's my favorite. I read it everyday and am constantly inspired by her designs. She has two small children yet her home always looks perfect - unlike mine... ;)
I could really use the points to makeover my living room. The contest requires that the points are used to redo a "social space". In our home, it doesn't get more social than the living room. It's the largest room in our home and is where we spend most of our time together as a family. The challenge recently has been maintaining a sense of style in the room while also having toys EVERYWHERE! We have had our couches, TV and entertainment center since 1999! Crazy! Not only does the furniture need to be replaced, our style has changed since it was originally purchased. Rob and I refinished the hardwoods and painted when we moved in 7 years ago.
We really need a space where we can be together as a family and not trip over toys or slide to the middle of the couch while watching TV.
Below are the photos I'm submitting for consideration:

TOYS!!!!!!!

The room has a TON of potential!

Inspired...

It's been a while... Too long. I miss blogging. I miss commenting on my favorite blogs. For the past few months I've just been stalking them.

I was inspired by Laura's blog for her two sons and decided it was time to start fresh. The new blog is going to be mostly about the boys - thus the the name. I plan to continue to blog about fashion and the house too. I have a few home projects I'm going to start working on in the next few weeks. I want to share photos of the boys new rooms and the FINALLY finished basement.

Meet Holden David.

Born December 17, 2010.

I can't believe he's almost 6 months old! He is the BEST baby... He's the type of baby that makes you want more babies which is 100% not happening.
